Popo’s Pilgrimage is a documentary film about my grandmother’s yearly pilgrimage to Mount Putuo, a sacred Buddhist site in China. Through the camera lens as medium for conversations, the film is a multi-faceted portrait exploring themes of intergenerationa exchange and family heritage, told through the stories and humorous anecdotes by my grandmother – Popo.
